In recent years, a 'Proverbs 31 woman' has been defined as the woman who does it all – runs a thriving business from home, parents her kids, keeps up with their schooling, and has a very satisfied husband. 

How to become a Proverbs 31 woman?

Today, let's go back to the Bible and dive into what it means to be a Proverbs 31 woman.

Ladies, becoming a Proverbs 31 woman isn't checking off a list of accomplishments to attain the perfection of the virtuous woman in the Bible. 

A Proverbs 31 woman is a woman of virtue and character who shines Jesus brightly.  

It's embracing God's grace, bearing God's image, and fulfilling God's call on her life. 

1. A Proverbs 31 woman is trustworthy. 

She can be trusted to make wise choices and to behave with wisdom. She lives a life that is consistent, above reproach, trustworthy and brings good to those around her all day, every day.

2. A Proverbs 31 woman takes care of her home and works hard. 

A noblewoman sacrifices some of her comforts to do what's best for those around her. She uses her time well, and isn't afraid of hard work but finds pleasure in glorifying God through her job. She maintains a good attitude, learning to be content in all circumstances, even if she's dealing with long hours.

3. A Proverbs 31 woman is financially responsible. 

Knowing how to budget, save, and make good financial investments. She will be resourceful and knows how to use her God-given talents to provide for herself and the people around her.

4. A Proverbs 31 woman lives with joy and confidence. 

She is positive because she trusts in Jesus. It is only through Christ that one can have strength, dignity, and joy. Her confidence is found in Him, and not in the material things of the world. Because her confidence is in the Lord, she's not filled with worries – she's able to look at the future with joy and pleasure.

5. A Proverbs 31 woman speaks with wisdom and kindness. 

What's in your heart will come out through your mouth and actions. A Proverbs 31 woman's heart is filled and overflows with wisdom and kindness. Everything she does is governed by kindness.

Such virtues are not something that can be chased after in and of themselves. A Proverbs 31 woman pursues God first, and all these virtues naturally blossom in her life as a result of that. 

It isn't about doing, and it's all about becoming. 

This becoming is through God's grace, most certainly not by exhausting oneself through striving.
